History
The Research Management Centre (RMC) at the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) was established in response to the growing need for a centralized structure to oversee and support research activities across the institute. Although in its formative stages, RMC-GMI draws inspiration from national and global best practices in managing research and innovation, with the goal of creating a sustainable and impactful research culture. Since its inception, RMC-GMI has played a supporting role in coordinating internal research efforts, identifying external funding opportunities, and facilitating collaborations that align with GMI’s strengths in engineering, manufacturing, and applied technologies.

RMC-GMI operates as a central coordinating body within GMI, supporting researchers from various departments and technical areas.
